Check Your Email

Corporations go through a great deal to get a good name for a
product. Businesses know the difference a good name makes.

In the Garden of Eden, Adam's job was naming things.
It was the first Biblical occupation of man - Naming Things.

It could well be called, "The world's oldest profession."
It is still a job we all have.

We don't choose our birth names, our parents do.
We do choose our email names.  Your email name can go around the
world faster than the speed of thought.

Your email name often reflects what we think of ourselves.

Some of you reading this may need to change your name.

As I read some of the email names, I often
say, "this person is calling negative things upon
themselves because they are calling themselves something
negative and sending it all over the world."

We can't blame anyone else for our email names; we chose them.

Did you ever wonder why successful entertainers often change
their names? You don't know most of the movie star's birth
names, you only know their changed names.

They chose a new name because they wanted something different
out of life.

Look at your email name.

What does it say about you?

What are you calling yourself?
What are you calling upon yourself?
Is it something or someone who you want to be?
Is it somewhere you want to go?

Maybe your email name is neutral, but maybe it is not.

Here are some examples of email names that don't reflect good
things or destinations for the owner: booboo@, hardtimes@,
maddog@, devilwoman@, got_no_money@, sickpuppy@, brokenhearted@,
badmama@, uglyduckling@, lonelyheart@, missingher@ and nightmare@.

There are thousands that literally call out
bad things. Each time that you hit "SEND," maybe you
are sending to more than just the recipient.

Do you ever think, "Maybe I am sending out into the world
vibration and spirit saying, 'this is whom I call myself,'
respond to me accordingly."

Look at your email name, the name YOU have chosen.

Remember an email name is an address.
It reflects your habitation and destination.

Where do you live?

Bill Gates of Microsoft is one of the richest men in America.
His first name is Bill, as in dollar Bill. His last name is
Gates, as in the structure that keeps things in or out.
All large piles of Bills are guarded by some kind of Gates.

That's true on more than one level.

Bill's given name is William. Will "I Am."
My "will," will ultimately determine what "I am."

Moses said unto God, "whom shall I say has sent me?"
God replied, "Tell them 'I AM' has sent me to you."

Often when God changed the nature, role and destiny of men,
he changed what they were called. He changed the "I Am..."

Look at your email name, the name you have chosen,
your cyberspace habitation and destination.

As one of Microsoft's slogans says,

"Where do you want to go today?"

Bill Gates knows, and I'll bet his email address reflects it.

Naming Things - Check your email.

Prison vs Work-prison

Prison L vs. Work-prison J

J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J J JJ J J J J J J J J

Just in case you ever got the two mixed up, this should make things a bit more clear...

IN PRISON... you spend the majority of your time in an 8X10 cell;
AT WORK... you spend the majority of your time in a 6X8 cubicle.

IN PRISON... you get three meals a day;
AT WORK... you only get a break for one meal and you have to pay for it.

IN PRISON... you get time off for good behavior;
AT WORK...you get rewarded for good behavior with more work.

IN PRISON... the guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you;
AT WORK... you must carry around a security card and open all the doors for yourself.

IN PRISON... you can watch TV and play games;
AT WORK... you get fired for watching TV and playing games.

IN PRISON... you get your own toilet;
AT WORK... you have to share

IN PRISON... they allow your family and friends to visit;
AT WORK... you can`t even speak to your family.

IN PRISON... all expenses are paid by the tax-payers, with no work required;
AT WORK... you get to pay all the expenses to go to work and then they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners.

IN PRISON... you spend most of your life looking through bars from inside wanting to get out.
AT WORK... you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars.

IN PRISON... there are wardens.
AT WORK...they are called managers.

But cheer up, because

IN PRISON... you have to stay all the time.
AT WORK...you get to go home sometimes !!!

Clutter

I installed a new hard drive in my laptop computer. I have a
lot of programs and files and the hard drive fills up fast.

The laptop came with a 160 gigabyte hard drive. That was the
largest one that I could purchase when I bought it. It was 60
gigabytes bigger than my last laptop.

I was down to less than 10 gigabytes of unused space. I was
running out so I bought a new 250 gigabyte hard drive. Instead
of just using a utility to transfer all of the contents of my
old hard drive onto the new hard drive, I reinstalled
everything. I only installed the programs and data that I
really used.

When I finished, I had only used 100 gigabytes. Over 50
gigabytes of "stuff" wasn't there. I was a MountainWings
Moment.

I thought that I "needed" everything on my notebook but not
only did I now have everything that I needed installed, my
notebook's screen was a lot neater and it ran a lot faster.

Our lives are often like that.

We have a lot of extra stuff that we really don't need and
rarely use. Our closets are cluttered. Our drawers are
cluttered. Our garages are cluttered. Our computers are
cluttered.

Even our bodies are cluttered. Just look at belly buttons.

Not only is it physical. Our spirits are also cluttered with a
lot of stuff that is cluttering and detrimental to us.

Touch Me !!!

The man whispered, "God, speak to me"
and a meadowlark sang.

But the man did not hear.

So the man yelled "God, speak to me"
and the thunder rolled across the sky.

But the man did not listen.

The man looked around and said, "God, let me see you"
and a star shone brightly.

But the man did not see.

And, the man shouted, "God, show me a miracle"
and a life was born.

But the man did not notice.

So the man cried out in despair, "touch me God,
and let me know you are here."

Whereupon, God reached down and touched the man.
But the man brushed the butterfly away and walked on.

I found this to be a great reminder that God is always around us
in the little and simple things that we take for granted...

Even in our electronic age... so I would like to add one more:

The man cried "God, I need your help"...

. . .and an email arrived

reaching out with good news and encouragement.

But, the man deleted it and continued crying...

Don't miss out on a blessing because it isn't packaged the way
that you expect.

Wrong Feet?

One day when my sister was about three years old,
she put her shoes on.

As three year olds sometimes do, she put them on the wrong foot.

My mother said, "Denise you have your shoes on the wrong feet!"

My sister looked down and innocently said,

"But mommy, these are the only feet I have!"

"And, Sir, what are they?"

"Right decisions."

"And how do you make right decisions?"

"One word."

"And, sir, What is that?"

"Experience."

"And how do you get Experience?"

"Two words"

"And, Sir, what are they?"

"Wrong decisions"

A Look at Relapse

Although this is about a relapse into alcoholism, it applies to
many other areas of life, from overeating to relationship and
money problems. Read it carefully.

1. EXHAUSTION - Allowing yourself to become overly tired or in
poor health. Some Alcoholics are also prone to work addictions
- perhaps in a hurry to make up for lost time.
Good health and enough rest are important. If you feel well you
are more apt to think well. Feel poorly and your thinking is
apt to deteriorate. Feel bad enough and you might begin
thinking a drink couldn't make it any worse.

2. DISHONESTY - This begins with a pattern of unnecessary
little lies and deceits with fellow workers, friends, and
family. Then come important lies to yourself. This is called
"rationalizing" - making excuses for not doing what you don't
want to do, or for doing what you know you should not do.

3. IMPATIENCE - Things are not happening fast enough. Others
are not doing what they should or what you want them to do.

4. ARGUMENTATIVENESS - Arguing small and ridiculous points of
view indicates a need to always be right. "Why don't you be
reasonable and agree with me?"  Looking for an excuse to drink?

5. DEPRESSION - Unreasonable and unaccountable despair may
occur in cycles and should be dealt with - talked about.

6. FRUSTRATION - At people and also because things may not be
going your way. Remember -- everything is not going to be just
the way you want it to be.

7. SELF-PITY - "Why do these things happen to me?"
"Why must I be an alcoholic?"
"Nobody appreciates all I am doing - for them?"

8. COCKINESS - Got it made - no longer fear alcoholism -
going into drinking situations to prove to others you have no
problem. Do this often enough and it will wear down your
defenses.

9. COMPLACENCY - "Drinking was the furthest thing from my
mind."  Not drinking was no longer a conscious thought, either.
It is dangerous to let up on disciplines just because everything
is going well. Always to have a little fear is a good thing.
More relapses occur when things are going well than otherwise.

10. EXPECTING TOO MUCH FROM OTHERS - "I've changed, why hasn't
everyone else?"  It's a plus if they do, but it is still your
problem if they do not. They may not trust you yet, may still
be looking for further proof. You cannot expect others to
change their style of life just because you have.

11. LETTING UP ON DISCIPLINES - Prayer, meditation, daily
inventory, AA attendance. This can stem either from complacency
or boredom. You cannot afford to be bored with your program.
The cost of relapse is always too great.

12. USE OF MOOD-ALTERING CHEMICALS - You may feel the need to
ease things with a pill and your doctor may go along with you.
You may never have had a problem with chemicals other than
alcohol, but you can easily lose sobriety starting this way -
about the most subtle way of having a relapse.
Remember you will be cheating!  The reverse of this is true for
drug-dependent persons who start to drink.

13. WANTING TOO MUCH - Do not set goals you cannot reach with
normal effort. Do not expect too much. It's always great when
good things you were not expecting happen. You will get what
you are entitled to as long as you do your best, but maybe not
as soon as you think you should.
"Happiness is not having what you want,
but wanting what you have."

14. FORGETTING GRATITUDE - You may be looking negatively on
your life, concentrating on problems that still are not totally
corrected. Nobody wants to be a Pollyanna - but it is good to
remember where you started from, and how much better life is
now.

15. "IT CAN'T HAPPEN TO ME" - This is dangerous thinking.
Almost anything can happen to you if you get careless.
Remember you have a progressive disease, and you will be in
worse shape if you relapse.

16. OMNIPOTENCE - This is a feeling that results from a
combination of many of the above. You now have all the answers
for yourself and others. No one can tell you anything.
You ignore suggestions or advice from others. Relapse is
probably imminent unless drastic change takes place.
